COVID-19 VACCINATIONS ARE NOW TAKING PLACE
Covid vaccinations are free and only available on the NHS. If you are asked to pay you are likely to be the victim of a scam, so please be aware and do not pay anything.
If you are 42 or over, and have not been notified about having a covid vaccination, you can now arrange this yourself by either calling 119 or clicking here.
We are pleased to announce that we have joined our neighbouring practices in the Medway South Primary Care Network (PCN) and Rochester PCN in setting up a Covid-19 Vaccination Programme. The pace of vaccinations is dependent on delivery of Covid-19 Vaccine from NHS England.
We will be inviting eligible patients to book an appointment in priority order. We will firstly be inviting our over 80 years population and health and social care workers. If you are in this cohort and have not received an invite please be assured we will be inviting you. Please be patient with us as we may need to change the date of vaccination at short notice as we are relying on delivery from NHS England and this can be disrupted at any stage.
The vaccination centres will be at Lordswood Healthy Living Centre and Rochester Healthy Living Centre and will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE SURGERY FOR DETAILS OR TO BOOK A VACCINATION APPOINTMENT.
Please note information about the vaccine is available in a number of languages and can be accessed here:
All videos in one page: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55279549
The first group of patients eligible for the vaccination are people aged 80 and over*. The PCN staff will be telephoning them to explain about the vaccine and to book their appointments.
Appointments for COVID vaccination CANNOT be booked by the surgery.
Please see the current tier list below, please note we are not able to deviate from this tier list, and patients will be vaccinated accordingly.
*The Government has defined the priority groups for vaccination as follows-
1 – residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
2 – all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
3 – all those 75 years of age and over
4 – all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
5 – all those 65 years of age and over
6 – all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality
7 – all those 60 years of age and over
8 – all those 55 years of age and over
9 – all those 50 years of age and over
It is estimated that taken together, these groups represent around 99% of preventable mortality from COVID-19.
